I have a goal and 10 months plus a few weeks to gitterdun! I have joined a Gym, obtained a trainer, started Isagenix, and am working with Dr. Braden of Valley Spine and Sport to get my body in alignment, fix my pump bump on my achilles tendon and get rid of my knee pain. I can just see me now doing all the fun stuff I want to do when I am at my goal weight. Skydiving, River Rafting, Run a short Race (if my doc says ok), Shopping, Hiking, LIVING. I am writing this now while I am feeling like I CAN DO IT, so I can read it on the days I doubt myself, I have a feeling these days will come. You have made a choice to change your life style, don't expect FAST results, it is not all about the # but how much better you are starting to feel. After you accomplish this you will have the desire to accomplish even more. Don't listen to that old voice in your head telling you you can't, YOU CAN and YOU WILL. Remember you are doing this for YOU and not for anyone else. Take the time for yourself, BE SELFISH. It is your time now. Keep the FIRE even if other people in your life start to go in another direction, If it is not good for you or something that makes you happy and fulfilled you don't have to do it. I believe in you!

One Good Day After Another

We have had many prayers answered this week while finishing our daughters wedding plans, which are many, and packing up our house to move at the same time, this is a test, only a test....and we seem to be passing so far! Today was just another good day in the week as family and friends attended the temple with Kristin as she took out her endowments. Life can chage in an instant!

INDIAN BURIAL GROUND!

I often make jokes that our house is built on an indian burial ground, and is cursed! And after this last week of having to dig up our back yard around our septic tank to prove to the Health Department that the tank was not installed backwards! I am beginning to believe my own joke! It has only been working for 16 years with NO PROBLEM.... so we uncover it,and guess what? It was NOT installed backwards (told you so!) but.... there is always a but..... it was actual built wrong! (okay, WHAT?) yeah that's what we said! thankfully it was a simple fix of moving the inlet and outlet pipes, so now it passes with flying colors, and has been put back in the ground with the dead indians!

My cats just love this time of year! The baby bunnies come out of the desert into our yard to eat grass and .......well they think these cool little fuzzy bouncy things are great to chase and pounce on. We save them often, the poor things, One of us will hear a little guy screaming and we will go running to break up the mayhem, here is a cute little baby cottontail that Tom saved from Yoda tonight. So tiny huh? We think they are cute!

You never have to guess, when he is hungry, he will let you know! He is still not flying but is flapping his wings and pulling the shafts off the base of his feathers, We take him out of his cage and he likes to hop around the yard. We call him "Buddy".

So have you heard the one about the ugly Duckling that turns into a beautiful Swan? well... he is not a Swan exactly he is a Raven. But he will be more beautiful I promise!
In the video you can see he is already so much bigger then he was last week, and his black feathers are coming in now. It is amazing how fast they grow.

O.K. I admit it, I have gone a little nuts selling stuff on Ebay! I have been cleaning out closets, and craft rooms, and garages and taking the stuff to D.I. and then one day I thought... I should at least log in to Ebay and see if anybody would want any of my "old junk", I mean "hidden treasures" and voila, They actually do! Beginners Luck Probably. Naively I had been writing a script in my own mind for the sitcom I call my life, and actually believed it was all just going to happen as written. Then some of the most important characters in the script stopped reading their lines correctly, they would constantly improv and change the entire scene. Soon I figured out that my "happily ever after" final episode was never going to be acted out. I tried a writers strike! But my union couldn't help. It has taken me a while now to realize that I'm not a writer (that's Cecily's' department ;]) I never did have control of their script. It was never up to me to write it in the first place. I have to say the storyline I was writing I liked a lot better then the one I have been watching unfold in front of my eyes. And I can't see the "happily ever after" that comes with this reality show. Thankfully there is someone who truly knows the script for these characters. I know he loves them, and I have the faith that he will let them write their own "happily ever after" if they chose. As for my sitcom ............ It is, what it is, and Life goes on!

FRESH CRAB

There are signs all over the rain forest warning you of the Cassowaries, I didn't even know these things existed? I guess they can disembowel you with the claw on the back of thier foot! Now that would have been useful information to have BEFORE you are in the MIDDLE of the rain forest!

Australian Sunset

We drove out to a small hill on the concession to watch the sunset on our last night in camp. The pictures we created were a complete accident that started with one of the guys sitting in a chair on top of this hill, one look at that picture and we had them running up and down that little hill, trading places with each other so we could get shadow shots of all of them, sometimes sitting, sometimes standing, with the gun, without the gun. Trying to get them before the sun disappeared. These are some of my favorite pictures of the trip.

WHEN IN ROME

Normally you couldn't pay me enough to sport a suit that makes me look like a giant smurf, but this was an exception, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to snorkel at "The Great Barrier Reef" and I will never regret it. What an exciting experience. We rode the Quick Silver out of Port Douglas Australia, to a diving platform they have anchored on the reef, It is very cool, we even had lunch out there and everything>

Fire & Ice

This all started with Bernie's Grandson. He and a friend had been out on the lake playing in the snow and sculpted a giant fish that looked like it was jumping out of the water. Soon word spread through town about the snow sculpture, and visitation to the park doubled that winter. One savvy park ranger petitioned to have an annual event, and now it is.

Bernie's Grandson works with the Ely Volunteer Fire Dept. in Ely Nevada, and used that as his inspiration for his sculpture.

Any one can sign up to participate, I say we get Becky to do it! She'll WIN it for sure! The living room above won this year. All of this is happening on top of (frozen) Cave Lake just outside of Ely Nevada. They have a contest every year called The Fire & Ice Show, the "fire" portion consists of a huge fireworks show and an historic black powder cannon being shot off many times during the day. The "ice" well it covers the lake and is the scene of the ice fishing and ice sculptures. With a top prize of $1,000.00.

It is usually the first part of January. It is a fun way to start off a New Year!
